Spring

Swelling buds burst insect breakouts
The surface tension of sap rising
Earth shifting power of new growth

Fresh leaves replenish winter’s stolen sleep
First butterflies, from earth’s dark blanket
Set forth in seasonal warmth

Sharp showers re-lit by sudden sun
Flood the landscape’s verdant swirls
Wet soil perfumes the musky air

Dark trees renewed in burgeoning green
Bedazzle eyes with vivid newness
And dancing bluebells scent the air

Blossom clouds the ice blue skies
Wide eyed woodlands chime with birdsong
Hedgerows rustle with secret life
